I hold a Ph.D. in Special Education – Learning Disabilities from the University of Maryland at College Park. I have 25 years experience in higher education, having taught at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels. I have published in leading journals, and serve on the editorial boards of several journals. I have one book, published by Guilford Press in 2012, Preparing Effective Special Education Teachers.
I have worked with writers with a variety of skill levels, including writers for whom English is not their primary language. I can provide both corrections and suggestions for your writing so that you can best communicate with your readers.
I have spent a lot of time working with and through the APA Manual, and have a video on YouTube (APA Crash Course) that goes through the 6th edition of the manual. Since the 7th edition has been published I have spent a great deal of time getting to know it, and have done a few editing jobs using that manual. Bottom line – I’m comfortable with whichever you are using. I would be very happy to assist you in whatever ways you request to get your manuscript, paper, thesis, or dissertation into the best work it can be!
In my spare time, I enjoy life in North Carolina from the coast to the mountains, I play old-time backup guitar in string bands, and I call traditional square dances.
